“My problem with Big Sean is — respectfully, if you’re watching, Big Sean. I mean no disrespect by this — the vagueness that comes with his disses,” he said. “Big Sean does lyrically diss people, and then we hear it as fans and we get to guessing.
“And then every guess we [make], he says, ‘You’re wrong.’ But he don’t never tell us who he’s dissing. Not that he has to, but our guesses be sounding accurate to us.”

Budden then used an example of when there were apparent issues between Sean and Kendrick Lamar: “When we thought that you and Kendrick had something going on for a little while, [Sean] told me on the phone I was wrong. I thought on the phone that was cap. Later, it turned out, Joe be right!”

Big Sean’s alleged subliminal disses recently made headlines when he appeared to take shots at Kanye West in an On the Radar freestyle.
Rapping over Aaliyah‘s “If Your Girl Only Knew,” he seemingly referenced the disparaging comments that his former G.O.O.D. Music boss made about him on Drink Champs back in 2021.

“I had to switch the home team ’cause they committed treason,” he rapped. “N-ggas looking for engagement like they got their knee bent / I got better things to do than to find someone to beef with.”
Sean also seemingly jabbed Ye for getting an indentical tattoo with Lil Uzi Vert and Steve Lacy: “Man, this industry is terrible, I can’t even vouch / I’ve seen grown men get matching tattoos for the clout.”
While Kanye has yet to respond, a fan of the Chicago rap legend took it upon themselves to exact revenge by leaking an unfinished version of Sean’s new album, claiming Yeezy told them to do it.
However, the “Bounce Back” rapper later shut down this claim and insisted that his former mentor would never do such a thing, despite their complicated relationship in recent years.

“I know he wouldn’t do that ’cause that’s trash,” Sean said on Instagram Live. “Whoever did do that, just know that it did fuck me up. N-ggas talking about, ‘Ye did that.’ I know he ain’t do that.”
In any case, the leak appeared to have hastened the rollout of Big Sean’s album as just 24 hours later he officially announced its title, Better Me Than You, and August 9 release date.
