Tyler, The Creator, is known for his eccentric, zany behavior — however, a bizarre interaction with a fan caused him to show his more serious side.
On Wednesday (June 21), a clip surfaced online of a fan approaching the Odd Future founder for a few photos while attending Pharrell Williams’ Louis Vuitton Fashion Show.

In between the snaps, the fan tried to connect with the rapper over his love of Spongebob Squarepants and the popular watch featuring the Nickelodeon star that was included in Burger King children’s meals in the past.
In an interview with Robb Report last November, the rapper stated that his love for luxury watches originated from that SpongeBob SquarePants-inspired timepiece he got as a teen.
Tyler, however, seemed not to get the point and wouldn’t even dap the man up, as you can see in the clip below.
Tyler, The Creator seems to love luxury watches, as well as living a lavish life. In April, the rapper reportedly splashed out on a swanky new mansion in Bel-Air worth $13 million.
According to Dirt, the Grammy-winning rapper paid $2 million less than the original asking price for the striking contemporary property.
Located in the glitzy Los Angeles neighborhood, the home was originally built in the early 1970s but was rebuilt from the ground up last year. It boasts a white stucco and wood-sided structure.
Across 5,000 square feet of living space, the house features four bedrooms and six bathrooms. It also features Brazilian wood floors finished in white oak, along with high ceilings and steel-cased windows.

In other related news, while Tyler didn’t seem receptive to the Spongebob praise, he was happy to commend Robin Thicke‘s son Julian after he covered Tyler’s 2017 single, “See You Again.”
The Kali Uchis-assisted song from Tyler’s Flower Boy album has regained popularity as of late after going viral on TikTok. In an Instagram post earlier this month, Robin shared a video of his son with ex Paula Patton performing the song at a school function.

“I still have water in my eyes and lump in my throat because I’m overwhelmed by your voice, spirit, and talent,” Thicke wrote. “You and Peyton sound so great together. I am so impressed by you. That was an incredible performance at any age. My son Julian Fuego Thicke!!! Wow! @feliciathegoat”
In the comments, Tyler commented: “super cool!”
