Bhad Bhabie is clearing up the controversy around allegedly trying to pass off an AI verse from Kanye West on her diss track directed at Alabama Barker.
Last week, Bhabie dropped “Ms. Whitman,” which samples Ye and Ty Dolla $ign‘s Vultures 1 single “Carnival.” Later that night, she hopped on Instagram Live (though her face wasn’t shown) and appeared to preview a verse on the track from Ye himself.
It seemed quite left field to some fans that he would collab with someone like the viral sensation, but others speculated that the verse was his attempt to take an extra dig at his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.
Ye didn’t let the rumors circulate for long, however, and soon posted a video denying any involvement in the song apart from clearing the sample and said it was AI.

In her new stream with DDG, Bhabie explained what happened.
“Someone on my team went live on my Instagram in the middle of the night and played the AI verse, so everybody thought it came from me,” she said. “But first of all, I’ve never even done a live like this where you can’t see my face. So why would I choose to do it now?”
“People started coming at me because Kanye said, ‘Oh, that’s an AI verse,’ and I was like, ‘Yeah, I know it’s an AI verse, but I’m not the one that leaked it,’” she said. “Someone did it thinking, like, ‘Oh, it will hype the song up.’”

Bhad Bhabie also revealed how she ended up getting the song cleared.

“Kanye cleared it,” she said. “I reached out to [his wife] Bianca and I sent it to her, and she was like, ‘That’s fire.’ She was like, ‘Let me talk to him,’ and then she was like, ‘Give me 24 hours.’ And then like 10 minutes later, she sent it to me. She was like, ‘He cleared it.’”
In his initial response, Ye also explained why he cleared it.
“Yo, I’m not in the middle of none of this AI beef, people throwing my voice on things, the whole ‘Carnival’ sample,” he said. “I just talked to Travis Barker, I would never be in the middle — I don’t even know what’s going on.
“I just got sent a song and asked if I could clear the sample. The only reason why I clear anything is ’cause so many people try to stop me, they stop clearances, everything. It’s been very difficult for me.”

He added: “So if someone asks me, I always clear it. But I’m not cool with being put in the middle of all this at all. So any verse that’s going viral using my voice, I didn’t do it.”
Alabama is the daughter of Kourtney Kardashian’s husband, Travis Barker, from a previous relationship. Apparently, the 19-year-old slept with Bhabie’s child’s father at some point — or so she believes — and it’s been an all-out war for the former friends ever since.
