Tyler, The Creator has addressed claims that he has a “huge ego” during his performance at Camp Flog Gnaw this past weekend.
Talking to the crowd in between songs, the Odd Future founder said: “I do interviews and stuff and see folks like, ‘Oh, he has such a huge ego, he’s so full of himself.’ Hell fucking right I’m full of myself, n-gga, ’cause that’s how I feel about me.”

He continued: “I’m full of me because everything I said I wanted to do, I did. And I didn’t let anybody tell me nothing else. And I got a résumé to back it up.”
Tyler then attempted to instill that same confidence and self-belief into the crowd, saying: “If you got dreams and y’all feel some type of way about yourself that might exceed how others feel about themselves, fuck ’em and don’t let that shit cloud your brain for real.”
Tyler later posted a fan-shot video of the speech on his own X (formerly Twitter) account while joking: “[that’s] my ted talk.”
Also at the Los Angeles festival, which Tyler, The Creator founded over a decade ago, the rapper joined Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem on stage during their headline set.
The duo performed “The Hillbillies” for the first time live accompanied by Tyler, who also appears in the song’s video.
Among the other acts who performed at the festival were SZA, Ice Spice, Earl Sweatshirt, Clipse and Lil Yachty.
It’s the first edition of Camp Flog Gnaw since 2019 which was headlined by Drake, with a myriad of issues causing the festival to go on hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

Talking to Billboard in 2022, Tyler, The Creator’s manager Christian Clancy said: “Tyler toured all year and was busy with a number of projects. Reading the tea leaves and what’s happening with festivals coming out of the pandemic, we thought it would be best to come back next year.”
Tyler has previously addressed the theme of confidence in his music, such as on the song “RUNITUP” where he says in the intro: “I always had confidence, I ain’t never been nervous, I ain’t never had anxiety, I ain’t never second guessed myself. If I want it, I go get it.”
