DJ Khaled is looking to land a collaboration with Tyler, The Creator after ending their feud at JAY-Z’s annual Roc Nation brunch.

Speaking to Rolling Stone about his forthcoming 14th album Til Next Time, Khaled insisted that he and the former Odd Future rapper are now on good terms.

According to journalist Jeff Ihaza: “He also tells me he’d like to work with Tems and, surprisingly, Tyler, The Creator, with whom he says he has a good rapport, despite a social media tussle when Father of Asahd was beaten out by Tyler’s IGOR on the charts in 2019. (He says they chopped it up at JAY-Z’s Roc Nation brunch earlier this year.)”

Khaled famously got angry when his Father of Asahd album was beaten to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 by Tyler’s IGOR in 2019, with reports emerging that the producer stormed the offices of Epic Records to go on a rant.

Khaled also aimed some anger at Billboard for not counting copies of his album that were bundled with nutritional supplements.

In a since-deleted video posted to Instagram, Khaled said: “Here’s the thing, I make albums so people can play it. And you actually hear it. You know, driving your car, you hear another car playing it.

“Go to the barbershop, you hear them playing it. You know, turn the radio on, and you hear them playing it. It’s playing everywhere — it’s called great music. It’s called albums that you actually hear the songs. Not no mysterious shit and you never hear it.”

In the years since, Tyler, The Creator has gone on to make light of the incident, mentioning DJ Khaled while celebrating his Best Rap Album win at the 2022 Grammys.

“And thank you to [DJ Khaled]. I know you’re seething and angry. ‘Ugh, no one listens to that album!’” he said. “These arena tours that are selling out says different. And if you put that much energy into something, maybe everyone would be proud of you, too.”

Tyler had earlier said that he enjoyed beating Khaled to the top spot on the chart, describing the mogul’s meltdown as “watching a man die inside.”

Speaking to Hot 97 in 2021, he commented: “Bro that Khaled thing was fun, it was just watching a man die inside. The weirdo was winning, I was moonwalking in a wig. This n-gga had everyone on his album. Everyone. That n-gga ego was deflated, he’ll probably never admit [it].

“I didn’t say nothing, I just let that No. 1 speak. N-gga’s ego had to deal with that because his whole identity is being No. 1. And when he didn’t get that, that sat with him longer in real-life time than that moment.”
