The Florida hitmaker performed at The Sun Rose in West Hollywood back in March, with the full performance being released on YouTube earlier this week.

The performance was also released as live album on Friday (December 22) and sees T-Pain perform a number of his classic hits, as well as covers of well-known songs which previously featured on his covers album On Top of the Covers.

The 22-song set includes renditions of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin,'” Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come” and Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me,” among others.

The reaction to T-Pain’s performance was overwhelmingly positive, with many fans stunned by his natural singing voice without the use of his trademark Auto-Tune.

“His voice gives me chills. I don’t think people realize how great of a singer he really is,” one person wrote in a comment on The Shade Room’s Instagram post.

Another commented: “So basically autotune needed him this whole time… noted,” while another said: “Pain deserves his flowers. He’s so talented and versatile.”

T-Pain announced the release of the performance and album on X (formerly Twitter), writing: “For all the people who wanted an album of me singing live, this is my holiday gift to you. For the Tiny Desk & Masked Singer fans & everyone in between, you ain’t heard nothing yet [crying face emoji].

“Thank you all for supporting me through this wild journey. GO STREAM THAT THING AND WATCH THE FULL PERFORMANCE ON YOUTUBE.”

T-Pain won the first season of The Masked Singer in 2019 where he performed as a monster. During his time on the show, he performed songs such as “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen and “This is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan.

The rappa-ternt-sanga’s real voice first found fame after his Tiny Desk Concert went viral, with him singing some of his most popular hits such as “Buy U a Drank” and “Up Down (Do This All Day)” accompanied by a keyboard and no vocal effects.

During the performance, the rapper said: “This is weird as hell for me… didn’t think you guys were gonna be here,” referencing the fact most artists on the show are indie rockers.
