As a special Olympics correspondent for NBC, Tha Doggfather has been trying his hand at all kinds of sports since the 2024 Olympic Games kickstarted in Paris last week.

In a video shared on Instagram, the West Coast rap legend wielded a sword and donned a fencing outfit (complete with a stars and stripes-themed mask) while dueling with U.S. Olympic fencer Miles Chamley-Watson.
The clip showed Snoop cautiously batting away the 13-time team Pan American champion’s attacks and being backed down while offering some hilarious commentary on the lopsided contest.

“Hold on now! Time out! Back that ass up!” he said.
However, Snoop soon found his confidence and suddenly went on the offense, even trading his anxious pleas for tough talk.

“Come on, cuh! Where you from? Huh?” he jokingly asked Chamley-Watson.
Snoop’s performance earned the approval of the pro fencer, who wrote on Instagram: “What a day hanging with my new Dawg!! @snoopdogg. Such a pleasure legend. We getting ready, not to mention my man was a natural. I think you ready for the Olympics now. Stay Tuned.”
Snoop Dogg has been a ubiquitous presence at the Olympics, rubbing shoulders with Team USA’s star athletes and providing plenty of entertainment for those watching at home.
The Long Beach legend was even tasked with carrying the Olympic torch for his home country during the opening ceremony, during which he put on for his city by doing the Crip Walk in the process.
Though Snoop has been a star for the United States, his career as an Olympic broadcaster had a little rough patch when he got teased on camera by the mother of champion gymnast Simone Biles.
While being interviewed by the rap icon alongside the TODAY show’s Hoda Kotb last week, Nellie recalled the time that Snoop blew her off when she asked for a picture.

“I remember, I will never forget, that we met you in Times Square [in] 2010,” she said. “And you said — ’cause we asked you for a picture — and you said, ‘Two minutes.’ One, two, and you were gone!”
Snoop and Nellie quickly laughed it off, though, showing they had no hard feelings about the incident.
