Critics on Twitter tore apart what was meant to be a gut-wrenching moment, as Yung Miami’s fake crying became a source of hilarity for many viewers.
However, Method Man — one of the most accomplished rappers-turned-actors and a star of 50’s Power Book II: Ghost — told TMZ that Miami should keep her head up and push past the “white noise” that people have been making about her acting abilities.
“Fuck people. People are mean,” the Wu-Tang Clan legend said as he walked to his car in New York City. “White noise. White noise…I love the City Girls, they’re dope.”
Yung Miami herself responded to the onslaught of trolling, tweeting: “It wasn’t funny lol” with a side eye emoji in response to a fan’s tweet that read: “Caresha had me screaming on BMF last night. She’s mad funny.”
Despite the backlash, the Caresha Please host was just the latest rap superstar to star in the show. Eminem and Snoop Doggappeared as White Boy Rick and Pastor Swift, respectively, while Kash Doll landed a recurring role as Monique, a paralegal single mother who serves as a love interest of Big Meech.

In an interview with HipHopDX in February, Kash — a Detroit native — said starring in BMF was a full-circle moment for her as she knows the true story the show is based on.
“It’s a full-circle moment, man,” she told DX. “I came up hearing about BMF when I was younger and just seeing how big their movement was. Being a part of this story on STARZ with 50 Cent, it just feels amazing. It’s something I can’t explain. I’m just grateful for that opportunity.”
BMF was renewed for a third season in January, shortly after the season two premiere brought in 4.1 million multiplatform viewers.
“BMF captures the essence of Detroit through elevated, gritty storytelling and our fans have passionately responded to this show more than ever before,” STARZ president of programming Kathryn Busby said in a statement.
