Lil Wayne has reasserted his status as the best rapper alive on his new single “Kant Nobody” featuring the late DMX.
The first offering from his eagerly anticipated forthcoming album Tha Carter 6, the Swizz Beatz-produced song arrives amid a rekindled debate in Hip Hop following Billboard and VIBE’sTop 50 Greatest Rappers of All Time list.

Wayne — who was ranked No. 7 behind JAY-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, 2Pac, Eminem and Biggie — reminds fans of his lyrical prowess and prolific legacy over a gritty, thumping beat that samples DMX’s 1998 cut “N-ggaz Done Started Something.”
“Best rapper, ex-trapper, dress dapper/ Swizzy gave me a head-banger, a neck-snapper/ X factor, make a rapper an example/ All I need is a beat with a DMX sample,” Weezy spits on the hook.

X, who tragically passed away in 2021 and sits at No. 21 on Billboard and VIBE’s aforementioned list, appears courtesy of his signature barking vocals, as well as an audio clip of him declaring that “can’t no-fucking-body fuck with me with this rap shit.”

Lil Wayne echoed a similar sentiment about his Top 50 rappers ranking in an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe shortly before the release of “Kant Nobody,” confidently declaring he deserves to be number one.
“Man, who the hell is before me? Was the list including all Hip Hop, like before and after as well? I can deal with that,” he said. “I will tell you that I am a muthafucking one. Everybody whose names you named, they also know I’m number one. Go ask ’em. They know what it is.”

As for the song itself, he explained: “That’s my brother first of all, Swizz. We got a billion bangers and just pick one to put out whenever we feel like it … My bro Mack [Maine] said he was a little upset about something that came out about rap or something like that.”
The New Orleans native first announced Tha Carter 6 last summer during his Young Money reunion performance alongside Drake and Nicki Minaj at the former’s October World Weekend festival in Toronto.

At the end of the star-studded show, Wayne interrupted Drake’s farewell speech to reveal the sixth installment in his flagship series is on the way. “I’m working on Carter 6, coming soon!” he told the crowd.
A giant sign reading “Tha Carter VI” then appeared on the onstage screen as he departed the stage.
Weezy has further fueled excitement by hitting the studio with the likes of Juelz Santana and Wyclef Jean, both of whom he’s released hits with in the past.
“Everybody already know… you already know… come on… it’s Carter 6,” Wayne told Zane Lowe. “I never even imagined. That didn’t even sound right years ago. I can’t believe we’re at Carter 6. My fans know I give my all. Go listen to my last feature and know it’s gonna be a thousand times better than that.”
