If there’s one thing Lil Wayne and Missy Elliott are going to do, it’s give each other their flowers while they can still smell them.

Weezy surprised Missy by pulling up to her wax figure’s unveiling at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas last week.

The “Work It” rapper returned the favor by showering Weezy with love and credited him with “birthing a whole generation” of rappers after him.

@LilTunechi You have Birthed a whole generation after you & Its easy for people to acknowledge Some1’s GREATNESS when their no longer around but I want you to know YOU ARE LEGENDARY,” she wrote to Twitter. “No matter who thinks differently YOUR BLUEPRINT is PRESENT! No debate.”

She added: “Sometimes it’s hard to run into a real one in this business but when you do DON’T LET THEM GO A huge hug will let them know you appreciate them & their contributions to the CULTURE! Thank You @LilTunechi.”

Missy Elliott has been feeling the love this year. In addition to receiving her own wax figure last week, the Virginia native was honored with her own street in her hometown of Portsmouth in September. That comes on the heels of earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last year.

Lil Wayne named Missy in the No. 1 slot of his top five rappers when rattling off his list on Fox Sports host Nick Wright’s What’s Wright? With Nick Wright podcast in May.

“It’s always gonna be first Missy Elliott,” he said. “She’s a huge influence of everything I’ve ever done. JAY-Z is the best ever to speak. Biggie, obviously. Then I have the whole Goodie Mob. Then I have UGK.”

Wayne has previously credited Missy with inspiring him to start using ad-libs on tracks. They’ve teamed up in the past on songs such as the leaked “All 4 U.”
