Lil Uzi Vert has responded to DJ Drama’s claims that their hit single “Just Wanna Rock” has replaced Meek Mill‘s decade-long banger “Dreams & Nightmares” as the anthem of Philadelphia.
While in attendance at the 2023 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 5) where they took the stage as part of the Hip Hop 50 tribute, Uzi told The Shade Room that they don’t really agree with their Generation Now boss.

“I don’t think so,” Uzi said. “That song like been around for a very long time, and that song is still hitting exactly the same way. I’m just gonna have to see, you know, in a couple of years or a decade or whatever.
“[Meek’s] a big homie from Philly, and that’s like one of my big homies,” Uzi added. “So I just like, feed off the energy that he gives actually to be able to even produce or put out that type of music. So like, hopefully. Like shit, hopefully he would hope that for me too. Not yet, though – it’s too early to tell.”

Drama’s original comments arrived earlier this month following the Philadelphia Eagles’ NFC Championship win to take them to the Super Bowl. Baby Pluto had walked the team out to the hit song for the game, where they cruised to a 31-7 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
“I think it’s fair to say that ‘I Just Wanna Rock’ has replaced — with all due respect — ‘Dreams and Nightmares’ as the new anthem of Philadelphia, as the new anthem of the Philadelphia Eagles this year,” Drama told TMZ. “I’m looking forward to hearing that song many, many times [throughout] Super Bowl weekend.”
Meek was the first to respond to Drama’s claims, taking to Twitter just hours later with his thoughts.
“Intro been lighting the world for 10 years!” he wrote. “Like shaking rooms for years!”
The Eagles used Meek’s “Dreams and Nightmares” as their anthem for their Super Bowl LII championship run in 2018, with NBC Sports Philadelphia calling it “the greatest Philly sports anthem ever.”

Released in 2012, “Dreams and Nightmares” is one of Meek’s most defining songs and remains a fan favorite thanks to its climax-building energy.
“Just Wanna Rock” is currently No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking its highest position since its October 2022 release. As it stands, the now-platinum track is Uzi’s third highest-charting song as a lead artist following “Futsal Shuffle 2020” (No. 5) and “XO Tour Llif3” (No. 7).
