Jim Jones and Maino are now known as Lobby Boyz, but not many know they didn’t always see eye-to-eye. Early in his career, Maino took shots at Jones and Cam’ron on a song and the Dipset members didn’t take it too lightly. During a visit to Gillie Da Kid and Wallo’sMillion Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast, the New York rappers revealed how they squashed their beef inside a mall in Atlanta.
According to the story, Jones and Maino were both shopping at Lenox Mall in the ATL when they ran into each other on the escalator. Given both men wouldn’t back down from a challenge, things could’ve gone south real fast in that mall.
“We had a Mexican standoff,” Maino said about the encounter. “I was on the escalator going up, Lenox Mall. Jim Jones had to have 30 n-ggas with him I had my brother 80 with me, it was like four or five of us. I’m going up, and I see these n-ggas going down, and they see me and I start counting and I’m like ‘Damn, that’s a lot of n-ggas.’ So I got to the top of the escalator, something say turn around and them n-ggas coming back up.”
Jones added, “80 and Sheek, Sheek is my OG, similar to how [Maino] and 80 move. But they knew each other very tight from being in the street. So at that point, they kind of intervened, and they was saying what they was saying and it was just somehow me and him walked by ourselves to Bloomingdale’s.”

The story continued with Capo and Maino stepping off to the side and introducing themselves to each other. There was so much room for the encounter to turn sour but it didn’t, thanks to the mutual respect and guidance of the Lobby Boyz’s OGs.
Fans are glad Jim Jones and Maino resolved their issues, otherwise they wouldn’t have been blessed with their first album as Lobby Boyz. Their self-titled effort has features from Benny The Butcher, Fabolous, Dave East, Styles P, Fivio Foreign and more.
