The attack on Dave Chappelle at The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Tuesday night (May 2) is currently the talk of the internet. As more details unfold, TMZhas discovered the man arrested for the attack, 23-year-old Isaiah Lee, is a struggling rapper who goes by NoName Trapper.
What’s even stranger, he actually has a song on Spotify named after the illustrious comedian (although Chappelle’s last name is spelled incorrectly). “Life with you [N-word] a joke,” Lee repeats on the track, while mentioning “keys to a boat,” seemingly without context. According to Spotify, he has around 5,700 monthly listeners.
Lee also has a sizeable Instagram following, with around 32,000 people. Hours before the attack, he posted a series of photos of himself wearing devil horns with blood dripping from his nose. But Lee quickly experienced the real thing moments after he launched his attack on Chappelle.

In video of the aftermath, over a dozen people surround Lee and give him a swift beatdown. He was ultimately loaded into an ambulance, bloodied and bruised, with his right arm bent backward and right eye swollen shut. After receiving medical treatment, Lee was booked into the Los Angeles County jail for felony assault with a deadly weapon. His bail is set at $30,000.
Chappelle, who was uninjured during the melee, made the best out of it and continued with the evening. Fellow comedian Chris Rock, one of many special guests, hilariously got back on stage and asked Chappelle, “Was that Will Smith?” The wisecrack marked the first time Rock publicly joked about getting smacked by Smith during the 94th Annual Academy Awards on March 27.
Jamie Foxx was also on deck at the time of the attack and returned to the stage as well. “Whenever you in trouble, Jamie Foxx will show up in a sheriff’s hat,” Chappelle said. “N-gga, I thought that was part of the show. I grabbed the back of that n-gga’s head. His hair was spongy, absorbent.”N-gga, I’ve been doing this 35 years. I just stomped a n-gga backstage. Always wanted to do that.”

Foxx then joked, “I’m back there squeezing that n-gga, too,” to which Chappelle replied, “I seen Busta Rhymes there and he was like, ‘That’s how you do it, God.’”
