Last month, xelA7th teamed up with producer DOM300 for a Friends-inspired track titled “Rachel Green.” Now, the Baton Rouge-bred MC has put together some new visuals for the single with the help of director Cali Kilo.
“While on Twitter one day, I came across a picture of Jennifer Aniston’s character Rachel Green from the TV sitcom Friends,” he tells HipHopDX. “I’m a big fan of the show and after seeing the picture, I told myself that I would make a song inspired by Rachel Green, simple as that.”
He adds, “This song is about that person that I’m sure most people have encountered or at least seen from a distance. That person who leads someone on just to end up returning to their on-and-off lover every time. I wanted to give the song a really uplifting feeling rather than letting it have a depressing mood. I decided to go with that sound because I want the people that have dealt with that kind of situation to view themselves as an amazing person, whether others realize it or not. We can all get over the Rachel Green’s that come into our life.”
