Future Surprises Fans With Beastmode 2

Future and Zaytoven delighted fans by dropping Beastmode 2 this week. The nine-track project’s only feature is Atlanta’s Young Scooter, who appears on the track “DOH DOH.”

Beastmode 2 was released on his ex-fiancée Ciara and her husband Russell Wilson’s second wedding anniversary (July 6), so it was suspected on social media that’s why he dropped it on that day. Sources close to Future, however, insists he chose the date to avoid releasing on the same day as Drake.

Drake’s Scorpion Is A Streaming Giant

Speaking of Drake, his Scorpion album accumulated one billion streams within the first week of its release and broke streaming records on both Spotify and Apple Music in doing so. It also went platinum the day it dropped.

The drama surrounding Drake’s personal life in relation to Scorpion was further highlighted this week when it was revealed he supposedly let Kanye West hear “March 14,” the song about his son, in Wyoming. It’s now alleged West shared this information with Pusha T to use as ammo for “The Story of Adidon” diss track.

Drama aside, Scorpion is on pace to have the biggest sales of 2018.

Hip Hop Pioneer Ralph McDaniels To Host “Video Music Box” 35th Anniversary Concert

Video Music Box’s Ralph McDaniels is holding a 35th anniversary celebration of the vintage Hip Hop show, and he explains how important videos began to become during this time.

“Not all Hip Hop artists had music videos back then, so we use to catch them live at the parties,” McDaniels told HipHopDX. “In the beginning, it was important because the fans never saw the artist performing the song. They just had to imagine what they were talking about.”
