The untold story behind Roc-A-Fella Records during its peak is on the way in the form of a biopic, Damon Dash confirmed in an interview with Hip Hop Motivation.
The Roc-A-Fella co-founder shared that he is still developing the film and revealed that the biopic will be told from his perspective.
“There’s a lot that people didn’t see and that would be the part I’d be showing,” Dame says. “So you don’t know what I’m going to show you. Why would I just make a re-creation of what everyone saw? I want to make things that no one knew.”
Since it was founded in 1996 by Jay Z, Kareem “Biggs” Burke and Dame himself, the Roc has become synonymous to Hip Hop. It advanced the careers of Hov, Kanye West, Cam’ron, Memphis Bleek, Beanie Sigel, DJ Clue and Jaz-O among others while cradling every Jay Z release and producing full-on movie productions.

Dame eventually left the company without making an announcement because he claimed he didn’t feel like doing it anymore.
