Following the release of 2011’s There Goes The Neighborhood, Southport, Connecticut emcee Chris Webby has been working on his full-length debut. Still untitled, the Dizzy Wright and Smoke DZA collaborator confirmed his upcoming plans to Montreality.
Webby will release an EP, keeping his short-release tradition, followed by his debut. In a recent interview, Chris confirmed that he’s been recording with a producer known for helping craft hits for Dr. Dre, Terror Squad and Lil’ Kim. “So far, it’s sounding pretty crazy,” said Webby of his recent material. “I was down in Miami, working with Scott Storch, working with SupaDupes, who’s another super-dope producer. [It has] been sick.”
With the upcoming releases, Webby hopes to stay out further as an artist. “Like, the shit is definitely sounding…I’ve realized that I’ve kind of proven myself as a textbook rapper, and now it’s time to expand into really letting the artist side evolve, if you will.”
