Drake has some jokes after Ebro Darden spoke about him on his show recently – and Ebro is dishing the shade right back.

During an episode of Ebro In The Morning on Hot 97 earlier this week, Ebro referred to Drizzy as a “sickness” in the game as he was discussing Kendrick Lamar‘s beef with him.

“Drake is not that important. The reason Drake’s in this is because he is a sickness in the game,” he said. “It could have been any artist, but it’s what Drake represents. People love Drake – they love his music, we love his music. He’s beloved. He’s not willing to go rip his soul from the bottom and do ayahuasca and look himself in the mirror as Kendrick had prescribed to him. It’s about what the game does to artists who try to dominate it.”

After catching wind of the comments, Drake hit back on his Finsta with a Photoshopped picture of Ebro over a bowl of ayahuasca – which is a drink made from stems and leaves that contains DMT and is used as an aide in spiritual journeys.

But to Ebro, the fact Drake even replied is telling.

“I’ll say this,” he said in response during the latest episode of his morning show. “If Drake is now mentioning me at this point in his career – which he’s never mentioned me before or even been on our program or anything like that. And he’s at this point where he’s mentioning me, where he’s already mentioned Charlamagne and Joe Budden and so many other points – he’s at a low.”

This is certainly not the first time Ebro has been critical of Drake.

Back in 2023, the radio personality jabbed Drizzy for shading Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” as part of his It’s All A Blur Tour stage setup, claiming the 6 God hasn’t shown up to speak out on Black issues throughout his career.

“Drake, who has never shown up, and y’all know I’m the biggest Drake fan on this show,” Ebro said. “Drake has never shown up to have anything to say about anything going on in society with Black folks or anything other than himself.

“So now you have an issue — I get you have an issue with Childish Gambino if what you’re saying is face — but fam, the song was supposed to be a joke diss, it didn’t actually happen. So why you in your feelings?”

He later added more context while talking to some of his listeners on X.

“Drake doesn’t have to,” he clarified. “Nor should he if he doesn’t feel it. But to say ‘This is America’ is overrated and over awarded when that song came at a time when people needed someone to say something. And he doesn’t feel the need to. That’s all.”

Responding to one user who agreed with his take, Ebro added: “I was responding to Drake saying ‘This is America’ is overrated and over-awarded. That song made people feel something at an important moment. And to slam that song when you never say anything is wack to me.”

In another post, Ebro wrote: “Watch the full clip on Youtube… Drake doesn’t have to say shit. But if we talking about ‘This is America’ then he rarely says anything significant about social issues and Gambino did.”
