C-Murder has seemingly responded to Monica‘s claim that she was left heartbroken following the couple’s alleged split.
On Monday (December 11), the incarcerated rapper (real name Corey Miller) took to Instagram where he penned a lengthy note that appeared to question the “So Gone” singer’s motives and suggested her energy could be better spent fighting a good cause.

“I don’t know why someone feels the need to publicly bash a person that’s fighting for their life??” the former No Limit Records rapper began.
He continued: “I am a black male fighting and hoping for freedom one day. Wanna speak on something?? Let’s talk about freeing us Louisiana inmates still held illegally and unconstitutionally by a racist Jim Crow law through a non-retroactive 10/2 non unanimous jury. Facts.

C-Murder’s comments come on the heels of Monica stepping out with her new man, Chris Brown‘s manager Anthony Wilson, at Nelly‘s Black and White Ball last weekend. The pair first sparked sparked dating rumors in October.
In the process, the 43-year-old confirmed she and C-Murder — who she first met back in the ’90s through mutual friend Foxy Brown — had gone their separate ways, although was tight-lipped about when the split occurred.

“Well, here it is in short. I got my heartbroken (again) and that’s ok! I learned yet another valuable lesson,” she wrote via Instagram.
“I went through it, got over it, now I can laugh about it! Life continues! I feel great that he has representation to one day be free! Let’s move forward.”
In a separate comment, she urged fans to follow her lead, writing: “OMGGGGG I haven’t said his name in 2 yrs can yall follow my lead like yall did when I brought him up? One band one sound.”
She added: “This comment section is everything but half yall lying! I can tell by your responses when I perform ‘should’ve known better’ LOL The difference between you and I, is I’m not ashamed! Live, Learn (some lessons twice), Grow! Good Day.”

Meanwhile, C-Murder is currently serving a life sentence in prison for the shooting death of 16-year-old Steve Thomas in 2002, which he has vehemently denied for years. He has repeatedly seen his efforts to have his conviction overturned denied, with the most recent appeal taking place in federal court last week.
