Bun B and his Trill Burgers company have landed a huge new deal with Major League Soccer’s Houston Dynamo.
On Wednesday (March 8), Houston Dynamo Football Club (HDFC) announced several partnerships with 10 local restaurants in the Houston area as part of a collaboration with world-renowned chef Hugo Ortega.

Of the 10 local establishments, Bun B’s popular Trill Burgers will be providing food on match day. Starting on March 18, fans will get a chance to purchase some of Bun’s delicious burgers at the stadium.
“Well the cats outta the bag,” Bun B wrote on Instagram under a post sharing the news. “We are proud to announce our partnership with @houstondynamo and @chef_hugo65 to present @trillburgers at @shellenergystadium this season! See you on March 18 for the season opener in Section 130!”
Chef Ortega is in charge of the match day culinary program at Shell Energy Stadium where the Dynamo’s play their home games. According to Ortega, he aims to create a dining experience that captures the “eclectic flavors” from the Houston community.
“I am excited to be a part of the wonderful enhancements at Shell Energy Stadium that will bring these Houston-inspired flavors to the venue as we cheer on our hometown team,” Ortega said in a statement. “I have played soccer most of my life and I know the feeling of scoring a goal and putting a team together. We are so honored to be part of the Club and have the incredible opportunity to enhance the fan experience as a team for our guests.”
Club chief operating officer, Jessica O’Neill added: “The Club is ecstatic to offer such a diverse array of flavors throughout the venue this year. We are counting down the days until we open the doors of Shell Energy Stadium and showcase a revamped food experience that will feel more authentic to Houston.”
The move is a huge step for Bun B and his line of burgers. The news that he’ll have his products sold inside Shell Energy Stadium comes months after he announced the opening of a new brick-and-mortar location. Last December, Bun B revealed Trill Burgers had found a permanent home in Montrose and will open doors sometime in 2023.

Since launching in 2021, Bun’s Trill Burgers was made available to the masses through sporadic pop-ups around Houston and as a vendor at several festivals. Trill Burgers’ current menu of beef and vegan smash burgers includes the OG Trill Burgers made with 44 Farms beef, Trill sauce, onions, and pickles. There are plans to add a new signature burger and other additions to the menu once the brick-and-mortar restaurant opens up.
“It’s been a long time coming, not just for us, but for anybody that’s had a Trill Burger or wanted a Trill Burger and couldn’t get one,” Bun B said in a statement. “We’ve been working hard to find the right location to make it as easily accessible to as many people as possible. I think we found that location, and we can’t wait to open these doors to the city of Houston and eventually the world.”
