Big Sean included some mysterious graphs at the end of the recently-released trailer for his new album, and now he’s explaining their significance.
The trailer for Better Me Than You dropped on Thursday (July 18) – just a day after a version of the album was leaked online. The psychedelic clip was soundtracked by an unreleased song featuring a funky bassline, spacey synths and pounding percussion, and as mentioned, showed four pie-shaped graphs at the end.

In a new clip posted on Tuesday (July 23), Sean Don broke down what they mean.
“When I was making this album, I was going through I felt like the same four emotions, really,” he explained. “And I remember I sat down and I drew this chart one day that just represented how I was feeling. I hand-drew it and I was like man, I never really saw this chart before. I ended up getting it animated. and it’s four different charts that represent four different feelings, four different moods of the album, four different emotions that I was going through personally.”

He continued: “First of all, I was under a lot of pressure. But going through that pressure led to clarity, which led to me being able to focus on happiness and living in that happiness briefly, and then going right back to the pressure. But I drew these graphs out and it really just brought the album to life for me.”

“I would rather give y’all my soul, I don’t have to sell it/ Might take a piss off your rap Mount Rushmore after I scale it/ Blue strips when I do hit the strip, know we fuckin’ it up like Elvis,” he raps before namedropping JAY-Z.
“No broke talk, G.O.A.T. talk/ Money talkin’ to me, like I don’t need no muthafuckin’ therapist/ Brought it right back to the crib like it’s nowhere else to go/ I was in North Carolina throwin’ up them pyramids with Hov.”

As for the leak, the person who shared it claimed to have released the project ahead of schedule after Sean seemed to take shots at Kanye West in his recent On the Radar freestyle.
“Since he wanna disrespect Ye so much, here’s the album, fuck him and his whole team,” the culprit wrote.
They also said: “Ye told me to leak it.”
The leaked files, 14 of them in total, included previously unheard collaborations with Nas, Brent Faiyaz, Charlie Wilson and The-Dream, as well as Sean’s girlfriend Jhené Aiko.

While it’s unclear whether Kanye was indeed behind the leak, Sean himself addressed the commotion on social media and seemed to take the setback in stride.
“Might as well start droppin, before they leak it all, got damn. BIG SEAN x THE ALCHEMIST soon,” he wrote on X while sharing a snippet of an upcoming collaboration with the legendary producer.
