50 Cent‘s 2003 hit “Many Men (Wish Death)” has seen a surge in streams after the assassination attempt of former president Donald Trump.
According to Billboard, the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ cut enjoyed a massive 250 percent increase in streaming activity after being co-opted by both Trump supporters and trolls in the wake of the shooting.

The song, which details 50’s own brushes with death, racked up 2.2 million U.S. on-demand audio streams between July 13 and 15, while also notching over 2,000 sales in this same period.
The incident behind the song’s renewed popularity occured at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, where a 20-year-old man opened fire at the controversial politician.

Trump was wounded in the right ear and left with blood pouring down as his face, while two others were injured and one attendee was killed.
50 Cent reacted to the shooting by sharing the now-famous photo of Trump raising his fist after his ear had been bloodied, soundtracked by “Many Men.”
“I know the vibes [palm on face emoji] we are all in trouble now !” he wrote in his Instagram caption.
Fif also posted a photo of Trump’s head superimposed onto the cover art for Get Rich or Die Tryin’ and wrote: “Trump gets shot and now I’m trending [shrugging emoji].”

He then performed the song during a concert in Boston on Saturday night, with the edited cover as his backing image.
The surrealness continued when an AI remix of “Many Man” surfaced online featuring Trump’s voice rapping 50’s lyrics.

The viral track hears a computer-generated Trump spitting rhymes such as: “Many men wish death upon me/ Blood in my eye, dawg, and I can’t see/ I’m tryin’ to be what I’m destined to be/ And n-ggas tryin’ to take my life away.”
