XXXTENTACION’smurder trial is finally set to get underway this week nearly five years after his deadly armed robbery in June 2018.
According to NBC6, the jury selection remains ongoing but the trial will start at some point later this week. Three out of the four alleged co-defendants (Michael Boatwright Dedrick Devonshay Williams and Trayvon Newsome) will stand trial.

The fourth — Robert Allen — actually pleaded guilty to second-degree murder charges in August 2022 and is expected to testify against his accomplices in hopes of a lighter sentence.
“[Allen] pleaded guilty to a lesser included offense of second-degree murder and robbery with a firearm. He still faces a life sentence. Obviously, we are hoping for better than that. But his sentence is deferred and it is likely he will be called as a witness in the case against the other three co-defendants,” Allen’s attorney Jim Lewis explained.

“Mr. Allen’s role was much less than the other three involved. It was always kind of contemplated that the State was looking to use him as a witness in the case.”
If convicted, the three suspects on trial could face life in prison. Authorities believe Boatwright was the assailant who ultimately fired the fatal shots at XXXTENTACION on June 18, 2018 in an armed robbery outside of Riva Motorsports in Deerfield Beach, Florida. They got away with $50,000 in a Louis Vuitton bag that X had just withdrawn.
The four co-defendants were arrested soon after and hit with first-degree murder and armed robbery with a firearm charges.
Drake, 6ix9ine, Joe Budden, Quavo and more have been named as possible witnesses that can be called to the stand in the Broward County murder trial.
X was involved in a number of feuds during his meteoric rise to fame, with his brief clash with Drake fueling conspiracy theories that the OVO hitmaker was somehow involved in his death.
No evidence in the case has ever been presented linking Drake to the crime, but that hasn’t stopped one of the defendants’ lawyers from officially listing the Toronto native and a number of other high-profile Hip Hop figures as potential witnesses in the case, according to the Miami Herald.

XXXTENTACION put Drake on blast in early 2017, accusing him of biting his “Look At Me!” flow on the More Life standout “KMT.” “If anyone tries to kill me it was @champagnepapi,” X wrote in an Instagram post at the time, before later claiming his account was hacked.
