“I never even owned a pair of Jordans until I met Curren$y,” he said. “I wanted some but I just never had them. Chuck’s. In Pittsburgh, it’s Air Forces, Timbs. N-ggas wore Js but like I had to choose if I was gonna spend that much money on sneakers or other things.
“Growing up, I never even thought about that like spending $130, $150 bucks on a pair of shoes.”

Wiz continued: “I would go to Army Navy and get some Dickies, get some white tees and Chucks — Carharrt like a muthafucka. That’s my whole style. Timbs cost a lot but you get like one pair of them a year.”

Early on in his career, Wiz was synonymous with Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars before adding Jordans to his footwear closet — thanks to Curren$y who tended to favor the classic Air Jordan 1.
Wiz and Spitta teamed up at the height of the blog era for their seminal How Fly mixtape in 2009, which is now on streaming services. A decade later, they channeled that same energy for the collaborative project 2019.
They also joined forces for the Live In Concert EP in 2013 while Curren$y also made appearances on Wiz’s acclaimed Kush & Orange Juice mixtape and Rolling Papers.
Earlier this month, the Pittsburgh rapper teased an upcoming collab with former adult film star Mia Khalifa, who will be joining the Khalifa Kush family.
“Y’all are gonna LOVE this Khalifa Kush colab i got comin wit @miakhalifa,” Wiz wrote.
He added of the partnership with Mia in his interview with Drink Champs: “We doing Khalifa Kush together. We’re branching out and doing celebrity endorsement deals and she’s the first one.”
