The Weeknd has teamed up with Mike Dean on four new tracks that appear on the producer’s latest project, 4:23 — check out it out below.
Released on Saturday (April 29), Dean’s new project — which also features production by the Canadian crooner — marks his first release since 2020’s 4:22.

The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) appears on four tracks: “Artificial Intelligence”, “Defame Moi”, “More Coke!!”, and “Emotionless” (which he also co-wrote).

The Weeknd and Dean have collaborated on a number of projects, including the singer’s 2015 album Beauty Behind the Madness and “Where You Belong,” which was written for the Fifty Shades Of Grey soundtrack.
Most recently, Dean and The Weeknd collaborated on “Double Fantasy,” a Future-led track lifted from the HBO series The Idol, in which both musician’s appear.

Besides The Weeknd, Dean has produced music for Beyoncé, Chloe Bailey, Drake, Kanye West, Kid Cudi, and JAY-Z. His career took off in the 1990s while working at Rap-A-Lot Records.
In addition to the aforementioned names, he’s also worked with Scarface, Tha Dogg Pound, Nate Dogg, Tech N9ne, UGK, Outlawz, and 2Pac.

The Weeknd is having a great year so far. Aside from preparing for the second leg of his After Hours Til Dawn stadium tour, the trailer for his upcoming HBO series, The Idol was recently dropped off.
The two-minute trailer shows The Weeknd trying to help steer Lily-Rose Depp’s character, Jocelyn, back to superstardom as the “bad girl” of pop music, while simultaneously juggling a brewing romantic relationship.
“Pop music is like the ultimate trojan horse,” Abel (Tedros) says in the clip. “You get people to dance, you get people to sing along.”
The seductive teaser is fittingly built around a rework of Britney Spears’ 2007 anthem “Gimme More” as Mike Dean and BLACKPINK’s Jennie make cameos in the trailer. Look for the show to premiere on HBO on June 4.
The raunchy and already controversial series finds the Toronto megastar playing the role of a self-help guru, club owner and leader of a modern-day cult, who starts dating a pop artist looking to regain her celebrity status (played by Depp).

He’s also revealed plans for a new project titled The Idol Vol. 1, which is slated to be a companion album to the HBO show.
