Harlow puts his acting chops and hoop skills to the test when beating Sinqua Walls (Kamal) in a shootout for money, but the Louisville rapper ends up teaming up with Walls in a contest where the winner takes home a grand prize of $500,000.
“They gon’ kill him in the parking lot,” Staples — who plays someone on an opposing team — bluntly says of Harlow. Check out the clip below:
“Jack Harlow’s amazing. Sinqua (Walls) is amazing,” the film’s writer and producer Kenya Barris said. “And the soundtrack, DJ Drama’s doing our soundtrack for it, and we think that that’s going to be in the same way that we’re doing Above the Rim too, but the same way we want to really bring that back.
“I think music is emotion, and we want to bring back big music to movies and make you feel like that’s just as part of much of the movie as the movie itself.”
DJ Drama is onboard as the executive producer of the White Men Can’t Jump soundtrack.
Prior to taking on the role for his feature film debut, Harlow admitted he never actually saw the 1992 original White Men Can’t Jumpwhich starred the likes of Woody Harrelson — who gave the remake his stamp of approval — and Wesley Snipes.

“Can I be honest,” Harlow told Vogue. “I was obviously familiar with it, it’s an iconic title and I’ve seen the movie poster, but I didn’t watch it until I got offered the role. I see why it’s a classic.”
