Uncle Luke has never been afraid to court controversy throughout his career, but the 2 Live Crew founder was, inadvertently, responsible for a near-nuclear crisis, according to comedian Earthquake.
The retired military soldier-turned-comedian went on an episode of Drink Champs, the teaser of which dropped on Saturday (July 29). In the clip, the Dave Chappelle protégé recalled the time he wanted to see Uncle Luke, but his commanding officer had other plans for him — and those “other plans” almost caused a defense department issue of epic proportions.

“Luke is the reason I dropped that muthafuckin’ missile, that nuclear weapon,” he told the radio show. “Trying to see Luke. This was when Luke first had them hoes. When he first broke out. And he was touring up in Shreveport, and I told my supervisor, my boss, my first seargent — I said, ‘Luke will be in town Friday. I’m taking that Friday off.'”
He continued: “I put it in, three weeks old, n-gga I bought my ticket. I’m going to see these hoes. Because I ain’t never seen Black women strip like this. They was on, like, Phil Donahue and one of them other muthafuckas. And I’m like, ‘N-gga, I got to see this shit.'”

“We were in the military — and you lookin’ at these ugly-ass women in the military,” he said. “I’m like, ‘N-gga, this is terrible.’ And do you know these muthafuckas had the audacity, the unmitigated gall, to tell me I had to rotate the munitions, and the B-52, before I go? Man, I went to do that shit quick, off the top of the dome, put that bitch up, didn’t put all them grease filters in, and pull that rack off. And all you heard: ‘eek, eek, eek. Bang!'”
Uncle Luke reposted the video with the caption: “@whoscrazy @therealearthquake man you got me dying laughing.”
As of late, Uncle Luke has been getting his long-overdue flowers. Last December, he and Fat Joe cleared the air after a brief social media spat over the career origins of Miami rappers Pitbull and Trick Daddy.
Luke welcomed Fat Joe during an Instagram Live session in December, during which the Terror Squad boss clarified the claim he made about the role he played in getting both artists signed to their respective record deals.

He originally made the comments during an appearance on the My Expert Opinion podcast, which Luke posted to Instagram, along with a caption refuting what Fat Joe said.
“I love Joe but i find this very interesting because i discovered @trickdaddydollars he did his first song with me as soon as he got of the lock up and by he stayed with me,” Luke wrote. “I also discovered signed @pitbull to the platinum selling Luke records label he did his first song’s with me.
“Maybe I’m missing something here I do have the receipts,” the Miami legend added. “By the way because you don’t see me all in the videos at the birthday partys [sic] yes @djkhaled i found him on underground radio mix 96 brought him to main stream, radio @99jamzmiami The Luke Show.”
Before expounding on the interview comments, Fat Joe kicked off the Live conversation by giving Uncle Luke his flowers. “Like I told you Luke is an Icon, living legend,” Joe said. “He created the sound of Miami. He put everybody on.”

He recounted how he first came to know of Trick Daddy during a trip to Miami for Super Bowl XXXIII in 1999.
“Trick Daddy shit was playing all over the Carol Mart [flea market], all over the parties,” Fat Joe explained. “I went back up to New York, I sat in the office with Craig Kallman, who’s still the boss of Atlantic. I don’t fuck with him no more, but I took the demo of Trick Daddy, I put it on his desk and said, ‘You need to sign this guy, he’s the next guy.’”
