Uncle Luke has addressed the media over his son being arrested after he made comments about Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber.
The 2 Live Crew Founder blasted various local media outlets on Instagram after his son was arrested for allegedly approaching several people at Big Pink Restaurant in Miami Beach, Florida while holding a knife.

“It’s your boy Uncle Luke,” he said in the since-deleted IG post. “Let me say this to the Miami media: is that the best y’all could do? You go find my estranged son, who goes to jail every other week, and plaster that on the news because I went off on your white boy Dan Gelber.”
He continued: “Hmmm. On Miami Beach for what he’s doing to African-American kids. Oh, you went and found the estranged son!”
On Sunday (March 26), Miami Beach city officials declared a State of Emergency after large crowds of spring breakers gathered in the tourist area, which resulted in the death of two people, per UPI.
Mayor Gelber also said in a previous statement that “enhanced safety measures” would be put in place to reduce traffic in the area.

Miami Beach is ranked as the number two destination for spring breakers, according to U.S. News & World Report.
This isn’t the first time Luke Skyywalker has called out members of the media. In April 2022, the Hip Hop pioneer went after DJ Vlad of VladTV after he interviewed his former 2 Live Crew bandmate Brother Marquis. Luke didn’t like the topics that were discussed or some of the accusations Marquis made.
“I don’t do a lot of interviews with some of these organizations that are just looking for clicks,” Luke said during an episode of his YouTube series The Luke Show. “The folks at VladTV decided they wanted to interview Brother Marquis of 2 Live Crew … When you have trash organizations like VladTV … where they go find people at their weakest moments … knowing these people aren’t equipped to do an interview.
“But they’ll do the interview and ask them all kinds of crazy ass questions because they have some venom about where they’re at in their life, their career and the things that they didn’t do to take care of themselves when they were getting money.”

Uncle Luke then suggested he was thinking about seeking legal action against Vlad for not contacting him about the stories Brother Marquis told during the interview.
“I don’t even know where you find VladTV,” he continued. “[I] don’t know nothing about it. But all I know is when I get one too many friends texting me something that this guy said, I then have to address it because again like I said, I don’t run from no smoke.”
