Tyga and YG have been teasing a new album together, and considering how actively they’re releasing new material as a pair, it’s likely to be right around the corner.
On Thursday (June 29), the duo dropped the video for their collaboration with Blxst, “West Coast Weekend” — the audio of which first went live in early June and was instantly branded a summer anthem by fans.

The three South Central MCs can now be seen partying in the visual package for the track. The three-and-a-half-minute cut features a verse from each of them with Blxst also singing the hook.
“West Coast Weekend” is a fresh take on 2Pac’s 1996 track, “All About U.” Like its modern rendition, the original featured some of California’s finest, namely Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg, as well as ‘Pac’s New Jersey group Outlawz.
Tyga and YG have been actively stoking the anticipation surrounding their upcoming joint album, and the pair have given fans another taste of what’s to come in addition to the above song. In mid-June, the duo released their fourth collaborative track. Custom made by two of the state’s best rappers, “Platinum” is a California-themed banger.
Both MCs hail from the city of Compton and their chemistry is palpable on the single. The track also comes with a video that pays homage to the Golden State and all its cultural gems.

From the Bay Area to Los Angeles, it features Tyga and YG turning up in front of landmark sites such as the Golden Gate Bridge and So-Fi Stadium. Most notably, the closing shot shows a mural of the late Mac Dre.
The song is one giant flex. On the chorus, YG raps: “Yeah, we be goin’ platinum without bein’ thorough/ 4Hunnid, five-hundred what I get a show.”
Aside from talking about his accolades and wealth, the “Toxic” rapper also references his label, 4Hunnid, which he named after the 400 block of his childhood neighborhood in Compton.
Showing love for their home state has been central to Tyga and YG’s brand, which is why it makes so much sense for the two to join forces.

While sharing the stage at Rolling Loud in Inglewood, CA earlier this year, they announced the collaboration album. The pair shared the news right before performing “Go Loko” together.
“So it’s crazy because last year, or like a year or two ago, we was working on the album, but the shit was going so crazy that we only came up with one song,” Tyga said, with YG in agreement. “But now we about to drop the new album, coming soon you feel me.”
