Trey Songz’s civil lawsuit related to an alleged rape he committed in 2016 has been dropped.
Per TMZ, the statute of limitations on the allegations has expired, causing the legal system to discard of the civil suit.
A woman under the alias of Jane Doe filed the complaint earlier this year claiming she initially had a “consensual” relationship with the R&B singer but claimed that Trey Songz became a “savage rapist” in March 2016. She alleged that TS anally raped her when she told him repeatedly to stop and was seeking $20 million in damages.

Trey’s legal team intercepted the filing and had the civil suit thrown out since the statute of limitations in California only lasts two years — so anything after March 2018 wouldn’t find Trey Songz liable.
This is far from the only sexual assault-related lawsuit Trey Songz has faced in recent years. In April, Trey Songz was cleared of the sexual assault allegations stemming from an incident in a Las Vegas hotel last November.
As broken by TMZ, Trey was accused of sexually assaulting a woman while in town to celebrate his 37th birthday party last November. The incident had allegedly occurred after hours at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas hotel when the “Heart Attack” singer and his entourage returned from Drai’s Nightclub with numerous women.
Former college basketball player Dylan Gonzalez accused him of being a rapist in a 2021 tweet that he also denied.

In a 2017 interview with The Breakfast Club, actress Keke Palmer spoke about her split from Trey Songz and accused him of “sexual intimidation” for tricking her into being in the “Pick Up The Phone” music video while they were at a party. Palmer explained she had to hide in a closet to avoid being filmed and was berated by Songz.
