Trey Songz has settled a lawsuit with a Jane Doe, who filed it in 2023 after alleging that the “Bottoms Up” singer sexually assaulted her at a party back in 2016.
Documents obtained from a Los Angeles court by Radar Online reveal that the singer (real name Tremaine Neverson) reached a conditional settlement with the plaintiff as of Friday (April 12).

The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
“The settlement agreement conditions dismissal of this matter on the satisfactory completion of specified terms that are not to be performed within 45 days of the date of the settlement,” reads the terms of the settlement. “A request for dismissal will be filed no later than June 10, 2024.”

So long as the terms of the settlement are reached, the upcoming court date scheduled for September 16 will be vacated.
When it was initially filed, Trey Songz spoke out about the suit, which also named Atlantic Records, as well as 300 Entertainment boss and Trey’s manager Kevin Liles as defendants. The plaintiff claimed the parties should also be held responsible for the singer’s behavior.

George Vrabeck, Jane Doe’s attorney, told Rolling Stone that the aforementioned defendants ignored multiple accusations of sexual misconduct against Songz over the years.
“This case is much more than about one singer and one viciously abused sexual assault survivor who has the courage to take action,” Vrabeck said. “It’s also very much about the systematic sexual abuse in the music industry and the music industry’s complicity in silencing sexual abuse survivors.”

He added: “It’s virtually impossible to believe that those executives are not and were not aware of the institutionalized sexual abuse.”
Following news of the suit’s filing, Trey appeared to cryptically respond to the accusations on his Instagram Story, writing: “Lies will never be the truth. No matter who chooses to believe such. Alhamdulillah.”
The suit is similar to Jane Doe’s previous suit, which was dismissed in 2022 because the statute of limitations on the allegations had expired. In the original suit, Doe claimed she had a “consensual” relationship with the Trey Songz but that he became a “savage rapist” in March 2016 and anally raped her while she screamed in pain and repeatedly told him to stop.
The new suit adds that Doe suffered harassment at the hands of Trey and his peers in the months after the assault. She claims the singer harassed her during a New Year’s Eve Party, calling her a “slut” and a “liar” before having security throw her out of the event.

Doe said the harassment became so intense she moved to another state, where she continued to be threatened by another unnamed musician who threatened to kill her if she didn’t “keep [Trey’s] name out her fucking mouth.” She said she’s dyed her hair and plans to move again this year.
