Travis Scott is now completely off the hook for the charges stemming from his June arrest for disorderly intoxication and trespassing in Miami.
TMZ reported Friday (August 30) that the last hurdle in the matter — a misdemeanor trespassing charge — was officially dropped after his legal counsel argued there were no clear “no trespassing” signs.

Prosecutors had previously dropped the disorderly intoxication charge against La Flame during a hearing earlier this month, but had decided to move forward with the trespassing charge.
In a petition filed weeks later, Scott’s lawyer Bradford Cohen filed a motion to dismiss on the basis of lack of signage. He also argued that his client was technically arrested at the address of a private parking lot, not the Miami Beach Marina.

His argument seemingly convinced prosecutors, and both he and Travis are pleased with the result.
“After arguing the motion to dismiss and the state realizing that there was no path to maintaining the charge, they decided to drop the case in its entirety,” Cohen said in a statement to TMZ. “Although not a serious charge, and one that should not have been filed, we are pleased with the result.”

According to Florida-based law firm Musca Law, Scott could have been facing up to 60 days in jail and/or a fine of up to $500 for a trespassing charge in the Sunshine State. And if a person is present in the structure where the trespass occurs, it’s considered a first degree misdemeanor which can carry up to one year in jail.
The incident in question occurred in the early hours of June 20 and saw Travis Scott handcuffed by police for “causing a disturbance” on a charter boat.

According to the responding officers, the “Sicko Mode” star got into a verbal dispute with the occupants of the boat and appeared drunk.
After initially complying with requests to leave the marina, the rapper returned five minutes later and became “erratic,” police said.
He was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing property after warning. He was later released on a $650 bond.
Recently leaked bodycam footage of the arrest showed Travis arguing with police officers and admitting he’s “scared” of them while criticizing what he sees as an over-the-top response.

After further bickering, he was eventually restrained and handcuffed by the cops before being led away.
