Timbaland has given 4Batz’s viral song “act ii: date @ 8″ a bigger boost by praising the song and urging Drake to jump on a remix.
The rising Dallas artist released the track — which is only his second ever release — in mid December, and it has since racked up over 9.3 million streams on Spotify.

A performance of the song for 4 Shooters Only’s popular From the Block series also boasts over 1.4 million views on YouTube.
Part of the song’s viral charm is the contrast between its sound and visuals, with the aforementioned video showing 4Batz wearing a ski mask and surrounded by his crew only to begin singing in a high-pitched voice.
His unique style has drawn comparisons to R&B stars like Frank Ocean and Brent Faiyaz, while his choice of woozy, jittery production is reminiscent of Timbaland’s own work in the 1990s.
Timbo liked what he heard and posted a video of himself reacting to the song on his Instagram page on Tuesday (January 9).
“Uh oh, who dis kid? 4Batz. Dallas, y’all got one,” the super-producer said. “Think y’all got one with this one. Yo, his tone is crazy.

“I’m telling you now, The Boy get on this, it’s outta here. It’s already outta here. This thing right here. And y’all know who The Boy is.”
He added: “Oh, Batz, you gotta get — oh, the remix gon’ be stupid. Y’all, man.”
A remix from Drake has helped elevate many artists’ careers over the years, including Migos, iLoveMakonnen, Blocboy JB and others.
While it remains to be seen whether 4Batz will be next to benefit from the “Drake effect,” the ski mask-clad star is steadily racking up the industry co-signs.
In addition to Timbaland, he’s also earned praise from SZA, who commented on an Instagram post of his “From the Block” performance: “Too hard.”
The Texas product recently topped Spotify’s Viral 50 – Global chart with “act ii: date @ 8,” while his other song “act i: stickerz ’99′” also has millions of plays across YouTube and Spotify.
