SZA has opened up about some of her internal struggles and insecurities when it comes to her public presence.
On Friday (November 24), the TDE singer took to X (formerly Twitter) and got a few things off her chest as she wrote: “No one teaches you how to enjoy ur life .. they teach you how to work for it . Desire it . Protect it .fight tooth n nail for it . Pray for it . imagine it .manifest it .. how do u process all the things you’ve prayed for.”

She then admitted to wrestling with anxiety and FOMO (the fear of missing out) when it comes to posting regularly on social media.
“I get anxious posting ab my life then get fomo watching other ppl post then experience way more life so there’s so much more to post and get anxious ab the volume of material then fomo again watching awesome posts then back to experiencing more magical life material I can’t post,” she added.

SZA has never shied away from expressing her vulnerabilities and exploring her emotions. Earlier this year, the 34-year-old admitted she wasn’t always viewed as the cream of the crop by her peers in high school.
During an interview with PEOPLE, the singer described her high school experience as “shitty,” but also said she’s thankful for it because her unwillingness to fit in is partly what pushed her to become the star she is today.

“I was bullied because I wasn’t quiet and I was awkward at the same time,” she said. “I wasn’t this tiny sad victim, but I was more so attacked just because it was giving ‘What is wrong with you?’ energy.
“I always thought, ‘Oh my God.’ I’ll never have the approval of anyone in life, this must be my defining factor, this must be the bottom line.”
SZA then admitted she didn’t have many friends in high school and didn’t even attend prom since she didn’t have a date, which makes her current celebrity status even more remarkable.
“I realized that all the things that made me feel so lame were actually what made me into who I am,” she added. “It’s like, I didn’t go to prom because I didn’t have any friends and I had no one to go to prom with … [and now] it’s so weird that my life turned into [having] a bodyguard while traveling to parties.

“All these things, if I had such a fulfilling existence and experience in high school, I would’ve felt validated to the point where I didn’t need to do anymore. [So] I just had to do more, I had to be more because I was like, ‘This shitty experience can’t be the end of it because if it is, I am cooked.’”
