Styles P has admitted that the term “standing on business” has left him feeling a little out of touch.

On Tuesday (January 16), The LOX MC took to Instagram where he hilariously admitted that he has “no idea” what the popular phrase means.

“I thought the term ‘IM STANDING ON BUSINESS’ was the remix of ‘I HANDLE MY BIZ,’ FROM THE 90’s and early 2000s,” the 49-year-old wrote. “But it can’t be! because mad soft dudes without a job or hustle keep saying that shit.”

“Imma continue to just mind my business and stay out the way and stay vintage,” he added, gracefully accepting his elder statesmen status. “Because life is starting to feel like the twilight zone / black mirror. I have no idea what the fux most people are talking about.”

This is not the first time that Styles P has been stumped by popular catchphrases. After Gunna‘s “Pushin’ P” took the internet by storm in 2022, being adopted by everyone from Future and Drake to Kim Kardashian and Nike, the Yonkers native admitted the trend went way over his head.

“Umm so Pushing p don’t got nothing to do with slinging pound or pimping ???” he asked his Instagram followers at the time. “What the hell does it mean.”

In the caption of his post he added: “I have no idea what half the shit I hear means ??”

Gunna attempted to break down the meaning behind “Pushin’ P”, but unfortunately for Styles P, his explanation wasn’t entirely clear.

He continued: “When you go to rent in these things, you Kickin P. When you go to on the Catch and spending your hard-earned, you Pushin P. P don’t just mean Playa, P also mean paper too. You could be pushing this P with paper too.”
