Styles P recently made the decision to quit his 20-joints-a-day smoking habit and he has advice for anyone else looking to do the same.
Taking to Instagram with a video on Monday (January 29), The LOX rapper shared his journey with quitting cold turkey in November of 2022 – and noted it hasn’t been a simple task.

“I went cold turkey. You’re gonna get withdrawal symptoms and it’s gonna feel crazy so be careful when you quit,” he warned. “Now here’s another thing: if you’re smoking out of fronto, grabba, dutches, whatever all the time, you’re not just addicted to the THC, you’re also addicted to the tobacco or nicotine somehow. So just try to slow down.
“When you do cut it out, you’re gonna notice that. I went from smoking 20 joints a day to three joins, two joints, one joint, sometimes no joint – but I also replaced one habit with another habit. 2023 was the heaviest I been in about 10/15 years.”

He concluded: “Use some hash, slowly get off gradually, have a plan and watch what other habits you pick up when you drop a habit because that happens too. So be smart.”

In November, both Jadakiss and Styles P were honored by Yonkers mayor Mike Spano for their efforts to give back to the local community.
In a speech at a Thanksgiving event, Spano said: “You look around and you see Styles and you see Jadakiss. They’re not the only two famous people to come out of Yonkers, but they’re the only famous people that continue to come back and give back to Yonkers. Let’s hear it for them.”

After the crowd gave cheers and applause for The LOX lyricists, Spano also gave a shout out to the rest of the Ruff Ryders crew at the event, which saw 10,000 turkeys given away for Thanksgiving, one of the largest such events in the New York area.
Additionally, Spano claimed that next year’s turkey drive was aiming to beat the world record of 15,000 turkeys.
Styles P and Jadakiss have spearheaded a lot of charity work in their hometown, with the former recently hosting a plant-based communal dining event which gave away free food and also pharmaceuticals.
Jada has also committed to food drives around Yonkers neighbourhoods. He started the drives in honor of his late friend and fellow Yonkers native DMX in 2021.
