Snoop Dogg has shown interest in the Twitter CEO position after current owner Elon Musk asked fans if he should step down.
On Sunday (December 18), Snoop asked his 20.8 million Twitter followers if he should “run Twitter” after Musk flirted with the idea of giving up the CEO title in his own recent Twitter poll.

As of press time, Snoop’s poll has received over two million responses, with a resounding 81 percent of the votes vouching for him to head up the social media platform. Fans still have seven hours left to cast their votes.
Tha Doggfather has yet to respond to the overwhelmingly positive response, although he did retweet an amusing post imagining what Twitter might look like with Snoop Dogg in charge.
In comparison, Musk’s poll — which posed the question: “Should I step down as head of Twitter?” — garnered over 17.5 million votes, with 57 percent voting “Yes.”
The 51-year-old mogul, who purchased the social media platform for $44 billion in October and has gotten off to a somewhat controversial start as its new boss, promised to abide by the results, although it’s unclear if he will actually step down.
This isn’t the first time Snoop has expressed interest in taking the reins at Twitter. In May, the West Coast rap legend jokingly said he wanted to buy the platform and had a plan to revamp it.
“May have 2 buy Twitter now,” he tweeted. “Gonna replace the board of directors with Jimmy from my corner Fish Fry, Tommy Chung and tha guy with the ponytail on CNBC. First line of business. Free internet on airplanes!!! 29 dollars for 1 hour is bullshit.”

He added: “Everyone gets a blue checkmark. Even tha bots with 10 letters in their name that hit you in DMs n just say ‘Hello’. Nah fuck those bots. #WhenSnoopBuysTwitter.”
While it’s unclear if he holds an official title at the company, Diddy secured himself a seat at the table at Twitter in October by investing over $10 million into Elon Musk’s takeover of the platform. The Bad Boy mogul was one of many wealthy backers of the deal alongside Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey and Saudi Arabian Prince Al Waleed bin Talal Al Saud, among others.
Meek Mill, on the other hand, has washed his hands of Twitter altogether after deactivating his account for good over the weekend. In his final tweet on Sunday (December 18), the Philly rapper cited a prevalence of “bots and weird people” behind his decision to quit the platform.

“Ima deactivate twitter forever and go to a new social where it’s more good vibes based off building, creating and motivation,” he wrote before signing off. “Whoever run my shit turn this off forever … ima takeover my YouTube account to replace me interacting with supports. Too many bots and weird people.”
