Snoop continued to gush over working with the British rock legend: “We hung out and we chilled. It was like a child that’s infatuated with somebody as a singer and you get a chance to meet them and they give you everything that you expected.”

He also shed light on the making of Missionary, likening it to his early career when Dre would take the reins in the studio.

“In my mind, I made it up that I’m gonna go back to being Snoop Doggy Dogg,” the rap legend said. “I want to be the student, the kid, the passenger. I want to humble myself and go in the studio and allow him to tell me what I need to do and produce me.

“You discovered me when I was a rock, you created this diamond, so I’ma allow you to shine it one more time.”

Though the Jelly Roll feature is new information, Dr. Dre previously let slip Sting’s appearance on Missionary back in August during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

“There’s a song, we have Sting on the song,” he told the outlet. “Man, it’s an amazing roster of artists that’s on this album. I shouldn’t have revealed that, to be honest.”

Dre also teased that the album will feature vocals from himself, in addition to production: “I actually did a couple of songs, I’m not sure if one of them’s gonna make it or not. I produced the entire album but vocally, I think, only one of them is gonna make it.”

Last month, Method Man confirmed that he, too, has a guest verse on Missionary.
