Smino has announced he’ll be returning with a new project titled S.A.D. 2 this year.
Set to be released on April 20, the mixtape appears to serve as a sequel to She Already Decided which was also released on 4/20 in 2020. Although both projects share the same abbreviation, She Always Dancing is mentioned as a possible title for his upcoming release.

To go with the news, the St. Louis rapper shared a new song on SoundCloud called “Smi, Myself & I” — a freestyle over Beyoncé‘s “Me, Myself & I,” the Scott Storch-produced song from her 2003 album, Dangerously in Love.
The track is accompanied by a music video directed by The Film Lord, which finds Smino rapping backstage and on a tour bus, with Ab-Soul also making an appearance in the clip.
Just like “Smi, Myself & I,” She Already Decided wasn’t available on wider streaming platforms either. The 16-song mixtape was released during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic and comprised of previously unmastered material.
“I made [this] shit at the crib [for real, trying to] stay sane and inspired as much as I can mane, been smoking distancing from [the] world,” he said about the project at the time. “Crazy how hard distance hit… Shit different [right now]. So I just cooked some fun shit, real free shit. Ain’t [nothing] perfect, all unmastered and raw.”

Speaking to Wonderland Magazine about the title, he said: “When I’m talking ’bout she already decided, I’m not talking ’bout no particular woman. I’m talking ’bout the mother, mother nature. She already decided what it’s gon’ be like. It ain’t up to you no more, it’s above me.”
S.A.D. 2 will serve as the follow-up to Smino’s third studio album Luv 4 Rent which dropped in October with features from J. Cole, Lil Uzi Vert, Doechii, Fatman Scoop, Lucky Daye, Ravyn Lenae and others.
Upon the release of Luv 4 Rent, Smino teased “a lot more to come” while speaking about putting out more projects.
“I have zero expectations as far as how people feel because I know there’s going to be so many different feelings,” he told Complex. “It’s always like that with my albums, some people love it, some people live by it, some people hate it, and some people don’t understand the type of music it is.”

He continued: “Some people even listen to a new type of music because of it, but I personally feel like I just want n-ggas to know that I’m back in this bitch. That’s it, and there’s a lot more to come. Don’t get comfortable, but I hope everybody likes it for sure. As much as we enjoyed making it.”
