Russ has clarified once again why he has no intentions of selling his music catalog after allegedly soliciting a lucrative eight-figure offer.
“My catalogue is not for sale because IN MY OPINION, music is an extension of the soul so selling the RIGHTS away of my music is the epitome of selling my soul,” he explained.

“I’m not letting some random company own my soul and my creations. Plus I’ll make more $ in perpetuity by keeping it.”
Russ also shared his stance on Instagram, adding in the caption that his reason for doing so was to “clear the air” after blogs were “postin stuff” following previous comments he made about his catalog.
Earlier this month, Russ revealed on the Boi-1da-produced “Too Much” that he was offered $50 million to sell his catalog, but he declined.
“$50 million for the catalog, I turnt down (Facts)/ I’m makin’ money every second, you should learn how,” he raps on the track.

While previewing a snippet of the song on social media ahead of its release, Russ explained that he turned down the offer because of its connection to his soul. “They offered me $50,000,000 for my catalogue and I turned it down because my soul is not for sale,” he captioned a video posted on TikTok.
As part of Wednesday’s Twitter spree, Russ continued to say how he didn’t want his opinion to influence others because a catalog sale could possibly make more business sense for them.
“Now idk anyones situation so if you feel like it makes sense to sell your catalogue, rock out,” he wrote. “I just wanted to clear the air on why I turned down the offer cuz I keep seeing blogs post about it so I wanted to use the moment as an opportunity to inform and provide insight.”
In a comment on RapTV‘s Instagram post, Sonny Digital disagreed with Russ’ stance, saying an artist’s catalog doesn’t qualify as their “soul.”
On the music side, Russ is preparing to unleash an “ambitious” third installment of his CHOMP series in 2023.
“Idk but I wrote to two alchemist beats today I gotta ambitious feature lineup so bare with me but 2023 is the for sure goal,” he wrote.
