Roddy Ricch has let it be known that he’s had enough of the critics, firing back at someone online who told him it was time to retire.
On Wednesday night (October 11), the Compton rapper took to Twitter to share a snippet of some new music, but it wasn’t as well received by fans as he hoped it would be.

“Roddy, it’s time to put the mic down,” one Drake superfan wrote, to which Roddy replied: “Shuddup bitch!”
The follower then returned fire, giving reason for their critique: “Your linsanity run during quarantine will be remembered forever. you can live off the box for the rest of ur life. just please stop going into the studio I beg you.”

However, some fans came to Roddy Ricch’s defense and respected that he protected his name. “That’s what I’m talking about,” another fan replied. “Speak up they gon’ respect a n-gga name today.”

Roddy Ricch appears to be in album mode as he took to social media earlier in October revealing he completed 10 songs in one single session.
“10 in 1 night Catching a Tempo,” he wrote on his Instagram Story, revealing track names such as “Love Bug,” “No Chance,” “Barely On,” “Lifestyle” and “Calling My Name.”
Roddy’s next body of work will serve as his first since 2022’s Feed Tha Streets III.
The 24-year-old has been at war with his fanbase at various times throughout his career. Over the summer, rap fans clowned Roddy for an Instagram Live session where he previewed new music but saw his viewer count quickly dwindle as the song played on.
A video of the broadcast showed that in less than a minute, Roddy’s viewership plummeted from 12,100 to almost half that. Unfortunately for Roddy, the moment didn’t go unnoticed by fans on social media.
“Viewership dropped faster than Celebrity NFT’s,” one disappointed fan joked next to broken-hearted emojis.

Roddy also got chippy with a fan asking for a selfie back in February and ended up shoving them out of the way.
A fan asked “The Box” rapper for a photo before attempting to put his arm around him. As the fan reached his arm over Roddy to take the picture, the Compton native pushed him away before his security intervened.
