Rod Wave celebrated his upcoming 26th birthday over the weekend by treating fans near his hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida with a concert featuring Lil Durk, 42 Dugg and others.

Initially billed as “Rod Wave & Friends Birthday Celebration Concert II,” the performance took place on Saturday (August 24) at Tampa’s Amelia Arena.

Throughout the night, the street crooner was joined on stage by the aforementioned artists as well as Fridayy, YTB Fatt and Lil Poppa. According to a post by one fan on X (formerly Twitter), the crowd topped out at around 21,000 fans.

The rapper, born Rodarius Marcell Green, turns 26 on Tuesday (August 27).

Earlier this summer, Rod Wave started getting fans ready for the release of his new album by revealing the pain it took to record it.

The Florida artist took to his Instagram Stories in June to reveal he went through a lot of “hurt” to make his next body of work happen.

“This fuckin project hurt so bad bra,” he wrote. “But ima give it ta y’all.”

He also teased that the tracklist, tour dates and merchandise will be announced soon.

Rod Wave released his last album Nostalgia in September last year with features from 21 Savage, Wet and Sadie Jean.

The project debuted at the top of Billboard 200 chart with roughly 137,000 total album-equivalent units in its first week.
