“Top three? That’s Big, that’s Pac, and that’s Hov,” he said around the 10 minute mark of the interview, published on Thursday (January 4). “And a lot of times, for the youngsters, just know that when you hear the OGs like myself and other n-ggas say those names so commonly, it’s because they had the biggest effect, you know what I’m sayin’?

“These are the n-ggas that we watched get rich,” he continued. “Jay, Puff, that was really the first generation that we watched get rich. Because we’ve seen artists that were hugely successful, but were they extremely wealthy? We’re not sure. Watching Run-DMC, you know, they were extremely successful. Were they widely wealthy, though? We’re not sure.”

The Biggest Bawse has frequently spoken about his love for 2Pac, going so far as to speak out against Jada Pinkett Smith’s constant stories about the late legendary rapper during the press tour for her memoir.

During an interview with BET Talks, the Ross put Smith on blast for revealing that ‘Pac suffered from Alopecia, the hair-loss condition that she also has.

Rozay’s frustration was tinged with humor, though, as he struggled to properly pronounce “Alopecia.”

“At the end of the day, come on man, come on Jada. Let 2Pac rest in peace,” he vented. “Appaleesha — what did she say he got?”

After the host corrected him about the proper pronunciation, Ross continued: “Tell me what this is — but we ain’t need to know that. Dawg a legend. He been dead 30 years. Apaleesha? Alopecia.”

The MMG mogul offered a suggestion of his own: “She should’ve told us a Will [Smith] story. Talk about your husband, baby. You married him. Tell us how you fell walking down the carpet one time and we ain’t know you ain’t have on no panties or something.”

He also once explained why dinner with JAY-Z is more valuable than a half-million dollars.

“I’ma take the dinner and I’ma tell you why,” Ross said in a video posted to his Instagram Stories. “In ’08 when I turned in my second album [Trilla], I had a meeting with Hov. We went to lunch. Philippe Chow, Manhattan — the orange chicken on the stick with the peanut sauce was the vibe at the time. Let me cut through the conversation.”

The rapper continued: “He said, ‘Rozay, versus writing to every beat you like, write to every record you could make work.’ He told me a quick story about ‘Big Pimpin.’ I said, ‘Okay, bet.’ I went from writing one record to every 80 beats I like, to writing 40 records out of every 80 beats I could make work.”

Rozay credited Hov’s advice with helping him level up as an artist which, in turn, brought him more success in the rap game and laid the foundation for his other lucrative business ventures.

“It took me to another level as a writer, another level as an artist,” he continued. “The amount of work I was putting out was next level. So you gotta ask yourself, are you ready to digest the knowledge or you just want to look at this watch at the table?”
