Rakim is moving into the world of financial technology with his new app Notes, and the aspiring artists it’s aimed at will be able to get answers to their questions from the voice of the legendary rapper.

Notes exists to connect artists with lenders and creditors, while educating them about money. But its most notable feature is “Ask RA,” which the company describes as “an AI voice assistant and agent in the iconic voice of Rakim purpose-built for independent urban music artists and creators.”

The main goal of the app is to make things easier for independent artists, both in terms of finding money and knowing about it — “AI-powered financial literacy and entrepreneurial education content” is provided.

“Independent urban music artists and creators often struggle to gain financial stability despite their market impact,” Rakim explained. “With Notes, we’re building a community- and lifestyle-driven platform that combines cultural connection, technology, and empowerment to give them the tools they need to thrive.”

Notes is led by Ra and longtime associate Divine. The latter says that the app exists “to empower and support artists and creators in the urban community who have been underserved and exploited for so long.”

People interested in Notes can sign up for the waiting list on its website.

In other Rakim news, late last year he dropped a hint that he may make a record with Scarface, and now everyone wants in on the action — including legendary producer Pete Rock.

In an Instagram post on November 18, Ra shared a photo of himself and the Geto Boys leader together in the Bahamas.

He captioned the photo — unclear how seriously — “Who wants this album!!!”

A number of high-profile Hip Hop personalities — Kxng CrookedKid CapriToraeLord FinesseAnt Banks and more — all seemed thrilled at the possibility. But Pete Rock had one very specific request: bring him on board to provide the music.

“Well I’m still alive doing what I’m supposed to do,” he wrote. “I still exist so utilize me cuz not everyone has the passion and fire and knowledge of music to know how to make yall sound good.

“People will want this album with the right type of music to make it interesting. Not everyone got it still. Yeah i said it.”
