Quavo and Offset have spent their Father’s Day celebrating their late Migos brethren TakeOff on what would have been his 29th birthday.

TakeOff was born Kirsnick Khari Ball on June 18, 1994, and this year marks the first time he won’t be here to celebrate after being tragically shot and killed during a dice game in November 2022.

As for the murder investigation into TakeOff’s death, his alleged killer, Patrick Xavier Clark, was formally charged with his death in late May. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office in Texas told KHOU-11 that Clark was officially indicted on murder charges on May 25 by a grand jury.

No further details have been released about the indictment, and it is unclear whether the Harris County District Attorney will make a motion to seek capital punishment, as Texas is a death penalty state.

Clark was originally released on $1million bond back in January following his arrest for the death of the late rapper. As part of his bond agreement, Clark had to wear an ankle monitor and remain at his parents’ home in Houston, while also avoiding contact with TakeOff’s family.

His bond was originally set at $2million before his legal team successfully negotiated to reduce it by half, claiming the figure was unconstitutional because he was unable to afford it. His attorneys requested a further reduction to $300,000, but their motion was denied. Judge Josh Hill ruled that previous statements made by Clark in a jail phone call indicated he could pay a $1million bail.

In addition, TakeOff‘s mother filed a lawsuit in June against the Houston bowling alley where he was killed.

According to Billboard, Tatiana Davenport filed a wrongful death suit on June 7 against the venue’s owners as well as the LLCs (810 Billiards & Bowling, LVA4Houston Greenstreet, Lionstone Partners, Midway Companies and Cushman & Wakefield of Texas) connected to the venue.

The lawsuit believes that the venue “failed to provide proper and adequate security for the event” and its owners “provided no screening mechanisms, no after-hour controls or security measures, and no enforcement of rules or industry standards to deter crime against their invitees.”

Davenport, who is listed as the administrator of the Migos rapper’s estate, is seeking $1million in damages as a result of the lawsuit.
