Paul Wall remains a beloved Hip Hop figure almost two decades after the height of his popularity, but even his biggest fans were left doing a double take after he debuted a new look.
In a video posted to TikTok earlier this week, the Texas rap legend looked almost unrecognizable as he sported a full head of silver hair and matching beard — a far cry from his buzz cut and soul patch that was seen in classic videos like “Still Tippin'” and “Sittin’ Sidewayz.”

Only his signature gold grill and thick Texas drawl remained.
“1st off, why my face look like the old man filter lol, we had a lot of fun yesterday, perfoming [sic] halftime with @Louie TheSinger and watching the @Houston Texans,” Paul captioned the clip.

After the video went viral, Paul Wall spoke with TMZ about his new look and admitted that was “insecure” about his gray hair for most of his adult life, but all that changed two years ago.
“My grandfather had a full head of gray hair when he was 18 years old, so growing up I always knew it was coming,” he said. “It started off with a little hair here and there in my chain.

“I remember my bro Nelly and Ali pulling me to the side and saying, ‘Aye, bruh, you gotta do something about those grays, they showing out!'”
He continued: “But honestly, I always had insecurities and hang-ups about my gray hair as a younger person. Now, I don’t mean to be ageist or any of that, but once I hit 40, it just felt like being gray was more age-appropriate.
“So as soon as I hit 40, I swear, all my hang-ups, insecurities, they went out the window … I was like, ‘Oh yeah, I’m letting them grays show!'”
Despite his seasoned appearance, Paul Wall isn’t showing his age on the mic. The 42-year-old has remained as prolific as ever in recent years, dropping over half a dozen projects since 2019 including full-length collaborations with Lil Keke, Statik Selektah and Termanology.

Most recently, the People’s Champ returned to the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time in over 15 years thanks to his “Johnny Dang” collaboration with That Mexican OT and Drodi, which peaked at No. 65.
“Boy, it gave me a new life!” Paul said of the song during his chat with TMZ. “Shout out to my dawg That Mexican OT. He brought your boy back with that one!”
