Noname has treated fans to an unreleased song with frequent collaborators Smino and Saba.
This week, the Chicago rapper swung by NPR studios where she put on a Tiny Desk Concert. Accompanied by a six-piece band, the lyricist-activist performed various tracks from her latest album Sundial.

15 minutes into the 23-minute set, Smino and Saba joined the party to premiere an unreleased song from their supergroup with Noname, Ghetto Sage.
“I want to do a little something unreleased,” Noname told the intimate crowd. “I got a couple of friends here. Can I invite a couple of my friends?”

“Everybody make some noise for Ghetto Sage! Make some noise for Smino and Saba!” she then instructed before the dynamic trio transitioned into the track, titled “Kush and Love Songs.”

Noname, Smino and Saba announced they’d be uniting under one banner in late 2019, forming the supergroup Ghetto Sage.
Since then, they’ve released just one song as a trio, “Häagen Dazs.” Before that, they would often guest on each other’s solo projects including Noname’s Telefone (“Shadow Man”) and Room 25 (“Ace”).
Noname’s Tiny Desk performance comes shortly after she addressed critics of her Sundial album, which drew backlash for Jay Electronica‘s allegedly antisemitic guest verse.
“Thank you everyone who ever supported me!” she wrote on Instagram. “sundial and my online presence over the past few years has turned a lot of people off me and that’s completely understandable. although many fans stop supporting with this new record, i just want you to know i’m truly appreciative for the times you did! i’ll forever be grateful for love, even if it’s temporary.

“Some critics say sundial is brilliant and i’m incredible. others say it’s trash and i’m a horrible person. maybe both are true. maybe none of it is true. not sure but i feel free! being financially dependent on fan approval has always felt like a trap. i’m free from that now and it feels so good can’t wait to see the 3 fans i have left on tour lol. i got vinyl made just for y’all.”
