Nick Cannon has been roasted for co-promoting an event alongside the Zeus Network that appears to pin light-skinned women against dark-skinned women.
The multi-hyphenate was supposed to host a live event in Las Vegas, NV, on Thursday (December 7) alongside the popular entertainment network. The show was called “Bad vs. Wild Las Vegas,” in which the stars of the Zeus Network show, Baddies, were going to be pitted against the stars of Wild N’Out.

The problem, though, is that the initial flyer promoting the event featured a “competition” pitting Black women of a darker skin tone against Black women of a lighter skin tone. The flyer was eventually changed to pitch “chocolate goddesses” against “caramel goddesses,” but the damage — and the backlash — had already been done.
Check out the before and after flyers below.
The backlash on Twitter, as might be expected, was swift and brutal.
“Sees the reason Nick Cannon is trending. Actually wish it was for another baby announcement. We need to have a conversation about too many Black men’s colorism. Just feeds white supremacy and is peak misogynoir. Do dark-skinned Black men hate their mothers?” wrote one user.

“Nick Cannon needs his ass BEAT! I’m not even gonna retweet that colorist bullshit b/c I don’t wanna help propagate such anti-Black nonsense. But when I say the Black diaspora needs to collectively put our foot up his ass, I mean that shit,” wrote another.
“Nick Cannon presenting something called LIGHT SKIN VS. DARK SKIN isn’t surprising considering how he treats his dark skin baby mama,” wrote a third.
This is just the latest controversy that Nick Cannon has found himself embroiled in.
Last month, Cannon was discussing the headlines about Bey’s Renaissance film premiere outfit on his Daily Cannon morning show on November 28. When his co-host Courtney Bee said: “I know they tried it, ’cause who the fuck look like Kim Kardashian,” Nick jokingly replied: “Kim Kardashian wanna look like Beyoncé!”

After seeing the picture, he added, “Kim Kardashian wished she looked like that!”
Nick and Kardashian briefly dated in 2006/2007, but nothing ever really came of the relationship. It did garner a shot from Kim’s then-husband Kanye West amid an Instagram rant in 2018.

Nick Cannon got with Mariah Carey shortly after ending his fling with Kim K, and the rest is history.
