Nick Cannon is becoming more known for his dozen (and counting) children than for his career — but despite his best efforts to be a perfect father, one child gets more attention than the rest.
On the May 11 episode of The Jason Lee Podcast, he revealed that his 8-month-old daughter, Onyx — whom he shares with LaNisha Cole — gets the lion’s share of his attention.

“[She] is probably the one I spend the most time with,” he said to the host. “I’m with her at least three times a week, for the full day. But I don’t put that out there in the media, social media [because] it’s not for them. But you know, LaNisha [Cole] and I have a super strong understanding and our co-parenting operation is so solid.”
He continued: “I got a nursery in my office. I’m literally gonna leave here to make sure that I can spend the most time with her—not against all my other kids because all my other kids, they’re in school, they’re babies, as well as Onyx, but the fact that I appreciate that LaNisha gives me the respect enough to allow me to have [Onyx], really, as equal amount of time as [LaNisha] does.”
Being a father of one child — let alone 12 children — can be very stressful. So, perhaps it’s no surprise that the stress got the better of Nick Cannon on Mother’s Day, and he mixed up the greeting cards to the various mothers of his children.
Cannon explained he penned a handwritten message to each of his six baby mothers, but his sweet plan backfired when he accidentally sent the notes to the wrong women.
“I tried my best, I really did,” he said. “I thought it would be really, really good, you know, I could buy whatever. [But] to show people how you really feel: write it down. And I was doing handwritten messages from the heart.
“So as I’m arriving, I have written a message and I get the cards mixed up. So when one baby momma reads the card about how I feel about the other baby momma.”

He concluded: “See, if I would have just gotten some generic shit that everybody else got, that wouldn’t have happened.”
