NBA YoungBoy fans turned out in full force for their favorite rapper during an online court hearing this week, though it didn’t have much impact on the proceedings.
YB appeared before a Utah judge via a WebEx video conference on Monday (July 22). Ultimately, nothing happened at the hearing as his lawyer was late, forcing the judge to postpone the arraignment to August 19. His lawyer later arrived and told the judge he was leaving a doctor’s appointment, but the proceedings had already been moved.

Several YB fans then made an appearance as well, shouting “Free YB,” but the rapper had already left court.
“Mr. Gaulden’s case has already been called,” Judge Spencer Walsh told them. “He’s done with court today for those of you interested. Everyone keep yourselves muted.”
Back in April, YoungBoy was charged with 63 counts relating to identity fraud, forgery, obtaining a prescription under false pretenses, possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, a pattern of unlawful activity and possession of a controlled substance.
In early May, KUTV reported that the controversial rapper had more charges added to his sheet, including possession of a firearm by a restricted person and two counts of obtaining a prescription without permission.

According to the affidavit, his alleged scheme worked like this: “A suspect calls in a prescription, claiming the identity of a real doctor and using a fraudulent patient name and birthday, all for Promethazine with Codeine. Sometime after the prescriptions are called in, they are filled and picked up by [YoungBoy and/or people referred to as ‘Known Associates’ 1 and 2].”
The 24-year-old even allegedly impersonated a doctor during the scheme but raised suspicion when he used the word “axed” instead of “asked.”
A few days later, FOX 8 in New Orleans shared that YB’s bond was set at $100,000 during a court hearing.
While he did post the bail, The Advocate reports that he was booked into another Utah jail shortly afterward, where he does not have the option to bail out.

As noted, his arraignment is now scheduled for August 19 at 9am.
